CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE

You can choose between two options (4 or 6 hours). Both of them include VIARCO pencil factory and the Hat Museum.

  • VIARCO is the only pencil factory in Portugal. It was founded in 1907. At their historic facilities the firm produces a wide range of technical and common pencils, as well as other design items on demand. This passionate visit reaches its climax at the shop, where visitors are dazzled by an explosion of designs, colours and aromas.
  • The Hat Museum is the only existing in the Iberian Peninsula. Housed in an old hat factory, it keeps the legacy of the many men and women who made it possible to develop millinery as an industrial landmark in Portugal. Machinery and tools on display illustrate the whole manufacturing process of this fashionable item, as well as its human, social and cultural dimension.
  • Oliva Art Center occupies much of the former Oliva sewing machine factory, a symbol of Portuguese art nouveau. Its outstanding collection of contemporary art two permanent collections: Norlinda and Jose Lima (painting, sculpture, photography and video) and Treger / Saint Silvestre, related to marginal arts and ethnography, which features a curious collection of voodoo art.
