DESCRIPTION

The Emina Rueda is the winery of the Matarromera Group specialising in the development of white and sparkling wines. Located in Medina del Campo, a traditional area for Verdejo wine production, Emina Rueda stands out for its commitment to technology and modernity.

During the guided tour we will go into the history and tradition of the wines of Medina and as we visit the Garden of Varieties, you can get to know the different varieties of white grape strains, from national and international sources.

CLASSIC VISIT

During the visit you will get to know about the past and the history of the wines of Medina and their golden age.

We start in the processing room and learn about the modern technological processes used in the production of white wines. Then, moving next door to the Garden of Varieties you can find out about the characteristics of our soils, the climate, how to grow and harvest the grapes, as well as our most typical varieties. Then you can take part in a guided tasting of two white wines.

VISIT WITH A TASTING LED BY WINEMAKERS

A Guided tour of the Garden of Varieties of White Grapes and of the Emina Rueda Bodega, in which you can discover from professional winemakers everything about the making of white wines: their varieties, the type of harvest, the processes involved in making soft, young wines, cask-fermented wines, sparkling wines and so on.

The experience ends with the tasting of 5 different white wines from Emina and Matarromera. An opportunity to enjoy and appreciate their diversity, freshness and elegance.

EMINA FOR FAMILY VISITS

The winery offers an experience for all, both adults and children, in which to explore the fascinating world of wine.

While the adults go on out a tour of the facilities of the winery and enjoy a guided tasting of three wines, the little ones will have fun with activities specially designed for them and related to the world of wine (painting barrels and labels, an educational explanation of the Garden of Varieties, children’s tastings with alcohol-free wines, etc.).

  • ”Hemina” or “emina” is the old measure of the volume of wine allowed for consumption by monks according to the Rule of St. Benedict.
  • The Emina Rueda winery is a unique building of modern design, within which is the latest technology for winemaking. Its design has incorporated the installation of photovoltaic generators, so that a closed cycle of sustainable energy is achieved, whereby the energy used in the winery is obtained in a clean way that respects the environment.
  • To prepare wines under the Denomination of Origin Rueda, these are based on the Verdejo variety of grape. As well as Verdejo, other varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Viura are grown.
