Palencia was a Roman town and housed a wealthy bishop estate in the Middle Ages. It was home to the first university in Spain, created by king Alfonso VIII in 1212. We offer a Guided tour of the cathedral and the closer San Pablo church, followed by a walk along the Main street and the historic centre to discover the main monuments, cosy corners and curiosities of the town.
