RUEDA – VALLADOLID

At km 173.5 on the A-6 (Madrid – A Coruna) highway, with access to the winery from exits 172 and 175.

Visit the two wineries of the Yllera family in the D.O. Rueda.

You begin your visit in the commercial winery, where they will explain how they make all their wines from the Verdejo of Rueda to the reds, rosés and the well-known sparkling wines. Next, you will enjoy two of the most representative wines of the label: the Yllera Verdejo and the Yllera Crianza, accompanied by a platter of cheese and chorizo (Spanish sausage).

After this first tour, you will move on to the EL HILO DE ARIADNA winery: an experience that brings together wine, art, history and mythology through an intricate maze of ancient Moorish cellars, located 12 metres underground, and restored by the Yllera family. Following “El Hilo de Ariadna” (“Ariadne’s Thread”) through 10 rooms, you will hear how each wine label relates to an episode or character in the myth of the Minotaur, in a parallel between the famous labyrinth of Crete and this one, under the ground of Rueda.
